Erin and I met about seven years ago, when I started working for her and her husband at their golf course. We were both transplants to that little town and hit if off right away. She’s been one of my best friends ever since!

“We’re fri’s because friends don’t end.” That’s the line Erin and I stole from her 13 year old daughter. It’s basically now become our thing and pretty much fits our awesome personalities.

She’s let me steel her two kids multiple times to model for me, and is frequently the guinea pig to all my new skin care services. (Even after I glued her eyelids shut…). Shes truly part of my family, so I was pumped when she finally decided that she wanted family pictures done.

Let me tell you that things could not have lined up more perfectly for this session. We shot this session at Ken and Erin’s home, in the back yard! They have a grassy back pasture and the setting sun hit perfectly for that beautiful golden glow. Also, it’s Wisconsin fall and the rain has been non stop. We booked this date almost a month before and really just lucked out that the weather played nice.

The session was full of laughs, from one of the dogs deciding to do her business right in front of the very first family pose, to the kids acting like sisters and goofing around between every pose. There was fun all around and made it super easy to get some great candid photos! I was also lucky that I take an enormous amount of shots of each pose, there is always someone making a silly face so taking a lot of photos increased my odds of getting one with all smiles and eyes open. Makes sense with how much fun the kids were having!

Erin’s family is absolutely crazy, but so much fun to be around and they really did produce some amazing images! This was one of those sessions that, after only a couple pictures, I couldn’t wait to get back home to start editing. Things just really fell into place and, this family rocked it!
