I want to give a big shout out to those couples that choose to move forward with winter time engagement pictures. Winter pictures can be AMAZING, but they are hard. Everything is dead, everything is cold, and things can just look blah. But then sometimes, things just line up and work out perfectly, and I end up with one of my favorite sessions.
I’ve known Kristin for a few years as she is actually a cousin to my boyfriend Ben, so I was pretty excited for this session and to be able to catch up with these two. We started the session along the Oconto River, which surprisingly wasn’t frozen over yet. Kristin showed up in the cutest red dress and was an amazing trooper in the cold air.
These two made it so easy to work quickly. I was able to post and direct them while they kept each other warm and smiling during the entire session. We left the river and headed out to City park, to get some final sunset pictures at the beach. But I had to make one quick stop on the side of the road. – – A quick tip, tall dead grass photographs really well. In winter, it’s a super easy way to add some warmth to an image. I’m always looking out for dead grass to give us a beautiful golden color cast.
Frank & Kristin got one of those sessions that have landed in my top favorites. In fact, I drove right home when we were done and started editing! These two have an amazing connection and fit so wonderfully together. I absolutely can not wait for their big day in August!
