Towards the end of 2018 I started to make my goals for the next year. I own an esthetics business so its a normal thing for me to plan the following years training’s and what not. But this time, I start thinking about my photography. The past few years, I have spent time prepping for the photography world, and I decided that 2019 would be “the” year to make it happen.

2019, so far, has been mostly prep work. Getting things ready on the business side of things, building my portfolio, setting up my website, along with some awesome education! I’ve also researched other photography business along with blog posts. One post in particular was a list of “tips for starting out”. If I can find the blog post, I’ll come back and add a link!

I want to talk about the one tip from that post that struck me. It was about choosing your photography business name. The writer talked about those “cute” and “creative” names that people come up with. Like me, I had decided to call my business Studio A. But then the writer said something. She asked when you see those business names, do you know who your photographer is? Will you remember your photographers name, down the road. I want my clients to know me. I want them to become friends, and I want them to have such an awesome experience at their photo session that they remember me for years to come. This lead me to a mini re-brand. To give my clients the experience I wanted them to have, meant I had to market myself to them.

Welcome to Ashley Jade Photography.

No, I get it, its not overly creative. It’s just my name with photography added to it. But I love my name! And quite honestly I loved that tip from the blog. I really am marketing myself to my clients, so what better way than using my name? No its not fancy, but my clients will know me, from the first time they inquire until well after I’ve delivered the final product. I wont be someone that introduces themselves at the beginning of a session, only to have my clients leave while completely forgetting who I was. This is my goal, and I can’t wait to see what this journey brings!

XOXO,

Ashley Jade
