The Recap with Ashley - October

I’m sitting at my desk, planning and prepping for November. Honestly, this post is way more for my benefit than any of my followers. I’ve found that I’m way more productive and successful when I write down my goals and reevaluate often. So here we are, looking back at October, and looking forward to November!

I am just now finishing up my “busy season” when it comes to photos. It was amazing with so much variety. I shot my first rainy day wedding, which was still so beautiful. Along with my weddings, I’ve been training a good friend to be an amazing second shooter, and we’ve eaten way too much sushi together. I topped off the month with some seniors and the engagement sessions of some super fun couples. I can’t wait for their weddings next year!

Outside of photos, October has been a beautiful month! We’ve had the most beautiful fall weather. To top it off, my sister Ellyse came and spent two weeks with me! It was so great to have her around. It was a last minute decision, so we didn’t make major plans but spending time with her just around the house was fantastic on its own. We celebrated Halloween together, I showed her the world of dart-ball, and we hung out just doing sister things. She even brought her dog with her, which Milo loved. After she left, my house felt empty, and Milo was a big old mope and sulked around for an entire day.

Now, I’m looking towards November. As the season continues to change to colder weather, and the holidays get closer, photography sessions will slow down. This is a great time to catch up on other areas of my business.

November Goals

Finish and Print Senior Style Guide – This is just for my high school seniors and will help them get the most out of their portrait experience. I can’t wait to share it!
Continued Education – I have a few educational courses I’ve purchased so my goal is to go through and finish one of them!
Continue on the progress I made in October – This means continue consistent blogging and social media. It’s harder than it sounds
Start the planning on a new project! I can’t wait to share it all with you but as a hint, this will be a special photo shoot meant to empower teen girls and show them the true meaning of beauty!

With so many goals, I know I’m gaming up for some late nights. This means after Ben goes to bed, I’ll head over to the computer room with a glass of wine and start grinding away. Wine of choice? This month I’ve got one of my favorites, a bottle of Relax Riesling! One of my favorites!
