When my good friend “Miss C” came to me a year or so back asking about a boudoir shoot, I was intrigued. Boudoir was always in the back of my mind as a maybe one day I’ll look into it kind of thing. I know that due to the nature of boudoir, its super important to have a good foundation of skills in things like posing, editing, lighting and even just general people skills. It’s one of those genres of photography that I feel you can really break someone’s confidence if you don’t execute the shoot well. So, I told her that I’d shoot a boudoir session only after I took some training for it.

That brings us to now! I found an amazing educator and got to put my teachings to the test, and holy man the results are literal fire! Just wait until you see them! But first, let me just give you a rundown of the day. I woke up Saturday morning bright and early to rearrange my living room. I’m a procrastinator, so of course I waited until the day of to set up. My little set up kind of blew my mind a little bit. I’m not a decorator but my little set up looked pretty dang cute!

As I finished up, Jaelyn and Miss C showed up. Jaelyn is an amazing hair and makeup artist that I found local to me. (check her out here) I’m super pumped to say that we partnered up so that I can offer her services to my future clients! Everyone is going to LOVE her! Anyways, we spent time chit-chatting, drinking wine, and getting Miss C ready for her shoot, then it was go time.

The shoot was nothing short of amazing! Miss C rocked every pose and suggestion I through at her, even when they weren’t that great of ideas. In all we ended up shooting in 3 different outfits, plus a pair of wings. The energy and positive attitude that Miss C brought, only fueled the session and in the end was a huge confidence boost to not only herself, but also, to me. I can’t thank her enough for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to dive into the boudoir style of photography. I can not wait until my next shoot in just a couple short weeks.
