I must be on a roll, the two hottest days of the year so far and I photographed weddings on both days! Sorry to my future 2021 weddings. Besides that heat, I have to say that Cody & Kendra had one of my favorite ceremony locations so far! Cody’s grandparents happen to own some land with the beautiful little stream running through it. Maybe its a creek or a river? I’m not sure, but in the middle of it was this perfect little island. I’m not even sure I can describe it right, but it was pretty.
On the bank, guests sat in chairs while Kendra’s mom officiated the exchange of vows between Cody and Kendra on the island. The running water, the slight breeze, and ample amounts of shade from the tall trees were crucial in keeping guests as comfortable as possible on the hot day. And luckily, Kendra’s mom knew how to keep the ceremony short and sweet for the sanity of the bride and groom.
Because of the hot weather, we worked quick from ceremony, through family formals, and dashed through the bride and groom portraits. Even with the short time, we were able to capture some beautiful images between the newlyweds. Cody and Kendra – Congratulations on your wedding day. It was truly a beautiful day and I’m so happy I was able to be there to capture it for you. What a beautiful new chapter you two have started!
