I remember when Amanda texted me saying she wanted me to do her wedding photos! It was probably 2 years even before her wedding date but that meant I had plenty of time to get ready! I’ve known Ron and Amanda for a few years now so I was pretty excited to not only spend the day with them but to also capture their memories for the future years to come.
The day went great aside from one pretty memorable moment. For those who don’t know, I am also a licensed esthetician and own a skin care business. So Amanda also asked me to do her wedding day makeup! Fantastic, we did trial run a few months back and the one thing we found was that the false lashes had a hard time sticking to Amanda’s eye. That’s what trial runs are for though, to find out any issues.
So, on the day of the wedding, we decided to try lashes again and hopefully they would make it through at least to her bridal portraits. I set it all up, tried a better glue and crossed my fingers. We can flash forward to the middle of the ceremony when Ron and Amanda start laughing. And there’s Amanda’s false lash strip, just hanging off her eyelid.
I’m not even sure anyone else knew what was going on besides Amanda and Ron. I was mortified, but those two just laughed and pulled it off. Amanda and I laughed about it later and it will forever be a memory I have.
Amanda and Ron, I can’t thank you enough for trusting me to capture your day and being one of my first weddings to photograph. It was such a fun day that I will always remember, eyelashes and all.
