Family Session | Family Cabin – Loomis, WI
“NO!” – Definitely not what you want to hear from the child during family pictures. This was the case when trying to get Opie & Katie’s little girl to look at the camera. It was actually making me laugh quite a bit because last year was a completely different story.
Almost exactly one year ago I took pictures for this fun family. When we met, Leah was taking a nap in the car. After some quick couples shots we woke Leah up for the family ones. She was not very happy, however as we moved around, she got more and more comfortable and by the end, we got some great images with happy smiles.
This time around, I was excited. I was excited to see this family, as we happen to be friends, but I was also excited to see the difference in just my own skills. Things went a little different this time around…
We met up at Ben’s cabin where the trees were still in beautiful fall colors. Leah started off great. We ran around with her, and she had a blast playing with Milo. Smiles and laughter were all around, however this also meant she was WAY more interested in playing with Milo and running around than posing in portraits with mom and dad. It made for some great entertainment for me!
The life saver – Bacon. We had planned on having breakfast at the cabin after pictures, so Ben’s family was inside cooking and knew we were having a little bit of cooperation issues. They offered bacon to Leah, and that was the golden ticket! Granted now we have some family pictures that include a piece of bacon, but it made her happy!
At the end of the day, we got some great shots, and I can see a huge difference from our last session to this one! Go me!! I can’t wait until the next time I get to photograph these guys, (next time around, there’s going to be another little one!) Congrats Opie & Katie!
Love them all
