Let me take you to one of my scariest sessions….photographing my little sister.
First off, I’m in the beginning of my photography career. Second, my moms opinion matters to me, and shes the type to lay it all out whether it’s good or bad. So, while I was super excited that my mom asked me to take my little sisters senior pictures, I was super nervous. I wanted them to turn out amazing for her, but I had only done senior portraits one other time so I definitely had some work cut out for me.
My family lives in northern Louisiana so I don’t get to see them much. I have two younger sisters (11 years between us) so when they came to visit this last November I was pretty pumped. We didnt have tons of time to take photos however, and I’m honestly a pretty big procrastinator, so we got on location kind of later in the day than we planned. We started off at a local park near where I live, then traveled 2 hours to get to Stevens Point, where I was born and raised, to get the rest of the shots she wanted. That second half is really where the time crunch started, as it was pretty late in the day and gave me some issues. But all in all, I was pretty dang happy with the shots I got for her! Plus my mom and sister were happy and now I get shoot senior pictures for my baby sister!
So now I’m getting ready to visit my family down south and watch Ellyse graduate from high school. Proud big sister moment! I’m excited to see all of them, but now I really excited to practice all the new things I’ve learned since that senior session and show how much I’ve improved, by taking more pictures of Ellyse and then photographing senior pictures of my baby sister, Tori! I can’t wait!
XOXO,
Ashley
