Dave and Kaytlyn’s wedding at Henes Park in Menominee, MI was filled with love and laughs from start to finish.
We started our day snapping images of the bridal details in the Henes Park Beach House. As a photographer, this pavilion was so much fun to photograph in. I’m a photographer that enjoys utilizing natural light as much as possible on a wedding day, so getting a venue with huge windows all around makes a great day for me.
Shortly after bridal details, Kaytlyn and her bridal party showed up with hair and makeup on point. As they continued to get dressed and ready, I scoped out a location for a bride and groom first look. Henes Park is huge, but right behind the beach house is open grass and a beautiful tree line. With a spot being so close to us, I decided it was a perfect spot for Dave and Kaytlyn to see each other for the first time.
The first look went off without a hitch. After a few tears we jumped right in to some bridal party portraits which got everyone laughing and having a good time. We got Kaytlyn into hiding just in time for guests to start arriving.
I’m not sure how many people the beach house can hold, but guests packed themselves in. The ceremony was short, sweet, and full of love. After the couple mingled with guests, we utilized the park to capture some gorgeous bride and groom portraits.
From grassy fields to sunny beaches, Henes Park in Menominee MI certainly has an amazing variety of backdrops for portraits. This park is one of my favorite locations for photography sessions, and now its a favorite wedding spot too!
Wedding Reception at Embers 1871 in Peshtigo, WI
After leaving Henes Park, it was time to get the party rolling. Dave and Kaytlyn chose Embers 1871 in Peshtigo as the perfect place for their reception. With it’s huge banquet hall, it was able to house all of their closest friends and family. I don’t know what I loved more, the delicious food, or the fact that I was able to sneak Dave and Kaytlyn out after dinner for some quick sunset portraits right behind the building!
The night went on with drinks, laughter, and epic dance moves until Dave and Kaytlyn pulled and “Irish good-bye” on their own wedding guests! It was perfect! But when the bride and groom leave, the guests may continue to play. As was the case when a couple guests decided to bare fist wedding cake into their mouths right off the dessert table!
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfectly fun wedding day. It’s always such and honor to be chosen by a couple as the photographer that gets to capture one of the most special days of a couple’s life.
Congratulations Dave and Kaytlyn!
