If you’re looking for downtown Green Bay senior photos with an actual urban edge, Jackson’s session is exactly what that looks like. We spent the evening moving through the streets of downtown Green Bay, weaving between buildings for that gritty brick wall backdrop, and finishing up along the river to bring in some natural elements. It’s one of my favorite location combos in the area because you get two completely different vibes without ever moving very far.

I’ve been really lucky when it comes to photographing senior guys. Every single one of them has shown up low key, easy going, and completely willing to just go with it. Jackson was no different. I’ve known his mom for a few years now, so there was zero awkward warm up period. We just jumped right in and had a good time.

Guys are honestly sometimes a little too easy to photograph. They sit where I put them, look where I point, and don’t overthink it, which means we move fast and get a ton of variety. The challenge is actually getting them to loosen up and show some personality, but once that happens the photos go from good to really good. Jackson figured that out fast.

Downtown Green Bay is one of those locations that gives you so much to work with. Historic brick buildings, interesting architecture, open streets, and the Fox River all within walking distance of each other. For seniors who want something a little more edgy and urban — and less “standing in a field” — it’s a perfect fit. And honestly it works just as well for guys as it does for girls, which not every location can say.
