Every photo session I do, there is always at least one moment that sticks out. With weddings, it’s usually a first look, or some intimate moment between the bride and groom. Maybe even some comical commotion with the wedding party, but no matter when this moment happens, there is always at least one that stays with me.
Sam & Joe got married right in their backyard in Crivitz, right down the road from Sam’s parent’s house. I remember walking into the kitchen after shooting some bridal detail shots. Sam was sitting at the table looking through her parents wedding album for the perfect picture that she could pull out and hold. Sam’s mom had passed away long before I had even met Sam, so she was looking for an way to include her mom on the wedding day.
After Sam got into her dress and we got all the other first look and bridal portraits out of the way, I had the album brought outside and snapped some images just of Sam paging through the book. I can’t imagine the feelings and memories that were going through Sam’s head at the time but what I do know is that the sun was shining down on her beautiful day, and I’m sure her mom had something to do with that.
As you scroll through my favorite images from Joe & Sam’s wedding day, I hope you can feel the same joy and love that was shared with all their guests. Joe & Sam, thank you so much for letting me be a part of your wedding day. Congratulations on this new chapter of your lives, I can’t wait to see what comes next for you both!
